Adding pictures and telling about your family story has so much more impact than the general language provided by the March of Dimes. People are more motivated to donate when they know that the cause has touched someone personal to them and they feel close to their story.
Create a Photo Montage of your Journey
Remind friends and family of the journey your family has been through by creating a photo montage of your child’s life (from birth until now) on www.onetruemedia.com. It is free if you do the basic montage and you can send it to as many people as you’d like. You can also post it on your webpage, www.marchforbabies.org/erinp.
Raffle Something
Create an incentive for people to donate money by raffling off something fun that you can give away. Give each donor a chance to win the prize for every $25 they donate. Some suggestions are: Red Sox tickets, an autographed baseball, a gift basket you made, a weekend at your vacation home, dinner cooked by you, or a gift certificate you purchased. Whatever you have access to that you think will appeal to your circle of friends and family will work.
Email Tag or Badge
Adding a line to the signature in your email gives your message frequency and can be a subtle and constant reminder to those you are in contact with of how important this cause is to you.
