A Thank You from Cape Cod's Family Team, Hunter Addison's 1st Birthday

Thank you so much for everything, this was our first walk. Last year on June 11th my daughter was born full term but what we didnt know was the complications that came. Her umbilical cord was double wrapped around her neck. The staff was unable to perform an emergency C-section due to my daughter already being in the birth canal. Her delivery was truly a race to save her life. I opted for a natural child birth which played a grand success to her delivery (things truly have reason, even if we do not know that reason). When she finally was pushed and pulled from the birth canal, NICU raced into the room where they began life saving treatment upon my daughter. Her initial APGAR rated 1. It was with baited breath that we all waited for her first breath. It seemed like a lifetime, but just over 5 minutes after NICU began treating my daughter... she cried! and the room poured with tears of joy hearing her sweet cry. It is for this reason that upon my daughter's 1st birthday we asked everyone to donate to this cause rather than buy her gifts. Because after all, the gift of life is the best gift and the NICU unit and my delivering Doctor, Dr. Kraft at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA, gave my daughter the gift of life. It is in thanks to them and their tireless efforts that we gladly took part in this cause!
