Introducing Our Springfield Ambassador Family, The Flebottes!

Their story, in the words of Sarah Flebotte:

At 27 weeks of pregnancy with my first son, I started with symptoms of pre-eclampsia that later turned into HELLP. After two extended hospital stays, an ambulance ride to UMASS, and labor induction, our son Benjamin was born at 29 weeks, 5 days, weighing 2 lbs 14 oz. We decided at two days old to transfer him closer to home and into Baystate NICU care, which in turn were overwhelmingly supportive, caring, and wonderful.

Ben's two-month long stay was a rollercoaster of obstacles and emotion, and after enduring so much more than we ever though this little man could, our "Baby Ben" was strong enough to come home, weighing a whopping 5 lbs. A now thriving, adventurous and best of all healthy eight-year-old boy, he is your typical second grader.

We began our March of Dimes journey in 2007, with the family team "THE LITTLE MAN" in hopes of helping those who had helped us. Little did we know that four years later, with the birth of our second son Joseph (Jo-Jo) at 33 weeks, weighing 4 lbs 4 oz, we would be the ones needing that help, again. Though Joseph's NICU stay was much shorter at two weeks, it wasn't without its obstacles. So, needless to say, in 2011, the name was changed to "THE LITTLE MEN."

Without March of Dimes and the generous donations of others, we would not have the healthy family we have today, and for that we are grateful.
