My fellow Family Team Specialist, Erin, has one such child. Her son Jackson, who is 11, was born premature. And he loves being involved in their March of Dimes team. In fact, he's even gotten in on the fundraising game! Here is an example of an email Jackson has written to help fundraise.
"Hi, my name is Jackson. I have been walking in March for Babies for 10 years. This is my 11th year. I love it. My family is with me and some of my friends. It's a fun day and I feel very special. I see lot's of babies and children. I like helping them. Will you help babies with me too by donating to our walk? Last year our team raised $30,000. My mom told me we have raised over $175,000 in the 10 years.
It's easy to donate. Go to www.marchforbabies.org/erinp. Don't forget to watch my video. I helped my mom make it.
Thank you.
Love Jackson"
This is great for a variety of reasons. Jackson gets to be a part of the fundraising, which is awesome for him and for the team. He is using a video, which is really easy to make, yet really impactful. And, who can resist an adorable kiddo?
At the end of the day, the March of Dimes is about families. And our families are awesome.
